Slow Internet Speed during "Peak" Hours

I was paying for 105Mbps for years with perfect speeds but this year, my DL speeds kept getting slower and slower during peak internet times.  Had a tech out once but they were not able to solve anything and I have to admit I was quite frustrated.

Eventually, I lowered my speed to 50/10. But in the last month or so, my speeds consistently drop below 10Mbps (sometimes as low as 5Mbps) in the download direction between 7pm and midnight. Upload speeds are always spot on.

I've replaced my modem with SB6141 (didn't change anything). My "levels" look good, although I will post them if anyone is interested. My connection is direct into the house. From my demarc point, there are no splitters and only about 1 foot of cable between that connection and my modem. Yes, I only have internet. The setup is about as simple as you can get.

Doesn't matter if I use wireless or wired or even go direct around my N7000 router. And I've had a tech out that has checked the signal level inside my house.

I'm having a tech come out a week from today. My problem is, the speed is fine during the day when they show up. I really want to keep Comcast but I'm really running out of ideas to try. I hate to turn to the "slower" DSL alternatives in my area so this forum is my Engineer side last attempt to understand / solve this problem.

I noticed there is a ShaperProbe utility and I ran that just now. 26357 matches what at get on a speed test right now. Of course I'm paying for DOUBLE that speed and as the night goes on, my speed will drop below 10000kbps. Painful.

DiffProbe release. January 2012.

Shaper Detection Module.

Connected to server 83.212.4.36.

Estimating capacity:

Upstream: 11555 Kbps.

Downstream: greater than 200 Mbps.

The measurement will last for about 2.5 minutes. Please wait.

Checking for traffic shapers:

Upstream: No shaper detected.

Median received rate: 11536 Kbps.

Downstream: Burst size: 2496-2713 KB; Shaping rate: 26357 Kbps.

Any ideas? Or is Comcast just way overselling their spans as I suspect?
