Router connection turns off after being idle for a while

(or it may be a completely different problem)

Now, I don't know much at all about hardware and software, so I can't give any specific details on anything like power levels, error reports and stuff like that unless told step by step how to get that info, and I'm sure as heck there are several bajillion threads with similar problems but I just don't have the time to go google and look at every outdated thread and attempt what they did to resolve their issues.

So basically, the past couple weeks, my modem (Cisco model !DPC3939) has been disconnecting my internet and wifi, the Send/Recieve lights stop blinking on the modem. I usually notice this happens often when no one is on the PC, which is what my modem is connected to, while I'm usually gaming online via wifi on my Ps4 in a seperate room. Now, how have I been recconecting to the internet? Well, in most cases, I just simply open my internet browers, Chrome if that matters, and refresh a couple times and bam, internet starts working again. Now this may not be a problem if I'm just browsing the internet on my PC but I'm not, I'm gaming online on my Ps4, and getting discconected every couple hours or so in the middle of a game and it's getting extremely irrtating. There are however, times while it will just disconect while someone is using it.

Just the other day, the modem stopped working for hours no matter what I do (power cycle, reset, etc.) and just today, I was having major upload issues with my upload speed which was 0.1-0.5 mbs instead of the usual 5~6 (on speedtest.net) but my download speed was just fine. This however might have be a seperate problem.

Was hoping anyone could assist with this issue. Any information or details needed, just ask and I'll do what I can to reply, but for more detailed informations, a step by step on how to get that info will probably be needed as I wouldn't know where to go in the first place to get it.

Oh and let me say, this is not a power saving problem, I have already set it to never sleep/turn off display on the first couple days this starting occuring, which has done nothing to help my problem.
