Like others, I'm hoping someone will help point me in the right direction here.
I'm using the Arris TM822g and haven't had a single issue with it since I bought it about three months ago. On Friday, I suddenly started getting terrible download speeds. Testing found that my d/l speed hanging around 1mb/s, but upload was basically normal. I should be getting 50 down based on my tier.
I have been on chat with two different service reps. The first told me I had low voltages, but when I use the GUI for the modem, all the voltages are at specs according to the Arris docs. All the second rep would tell me is that I had all kinds of yellow and red lights (no details given) on his end and to boot he told me the modem wasn't even registered with Comcast. I know that part was blatantly false, as you literally can't connect if you don't register. And I went through the process of getting it registered as soon as I plugged it in.
If I reboot the modem, everything seems to work fine in terms of download speeds for a few minutes, then suddenly goes way down to about 1mb/s again. It is almost like the cable network is seeing it and throttling it way back, but I don't have any idea why that would be happening.
Now my battery light is blinking, indicating a battery problem. I'm tired of reps not giving me specifics, saying things that are contradictory if not outright wrong, and telling me to reboot the system.
Anyone have any ideas?
