I have had an ongoing connectivity issue for almost 3 months now. My modem will just randomly drop its connection. It happens numerous times throughout different parts of the day. There is not a single day where the connection doesn't drop at a minimum of 5 times. Most of the time I get so frustrated with trying to reboot and restart and it not working that I just leave it alone, and it starts up again hours later. I think I have about 7 days max of uninterrupted Internet service in the last 3 months.
I think that I have spoken to customer service 15+ occasions as well as a total of 3 techs at my house so far. The first tech said it was a cable outside and that he changed it. That didn't help at all. The 2nd tech was really knowledgeable and the different things he did had my connection working without interruption for a couple weeks. Then it started again.Tech three was just at my home about 2 weeks ago, and was completely confused and said all he could do was tighten cables and didn't know what the problem could be. Basically no help to me.
Needless to say that I am very furstrated and tired of dealing with this issue as I feel like I am out of options. Today I decided to do some research on my own, and found out that many people has a similar issue to mine had an issue with something called the Upstream. I am posting up some of things I have found through my own research in a hope that I can get some guidance here about what I need to do. Mind you, I am very new and challenged when it comes to this information.
