I am having a similar problem to another posting who has keeps losing connection for Comcast internet. My issue has been going on for around three months. I have an Apple computer and Motorola modem. My connectivity issues began around March or April. Today, I had no internet coverage from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM. It is beyond ridiculous. At first, I thought it was temporary and did not stress. Then, it continued on into months. Sometimes I can't gain access until around 9:00 at night. At late night hours and early morning hours, I do have access. If I do happen to have access during the day, I often lose connection off and on. There are some days I can keep coverage, but it seems that it is only when I am on the internet almost all day. If I take breaks, then the coverage seems to fail for the rest of the day.
I tried calling, but have talked to outsourced workers in another country that could not even get my phone number correct after saying it so many times it was ridiculous. I had to hang up due to langauge barriers. Then, I talked with another outsourced worker who also could not solve the problem.
I wonder if it has to do with the number of people located in a certain area who are using Comcast service at the same time. The reason I say this is because the problem has GREATLY increased since school is out for the summer. Also, my wireless connection is now showing connections that are not mine.
I can't continue in this manner as I work from my computer and need the internet usage. Not to mention the cost of internet usage is $50 plus per month. I am thinking of going to AT&T.
