I got an upgrade to DOCSIS 3.0, which meant a new router (whose functionallity I did not need).
Okay fine. Went through the motions of exchanging my modem for a Gateway. Except it did not run right, was horribly slow. Got it into bridge mode, things were a bit better.
Well decided to install my own SB 6121, and from then on, I've had to reactivate it via the call line 4 times in the last 2 weeks.
When I returned the modem.
When I install the SB 6121 the first time.
When I returned the failing gateway.
When I received the new gateway (which I did not want anyway)
Everytime, my modem was deregistered and I had to go through the activation process with the call line, which is only during business hours. That means I missed calls during the night and also my 911 was off during that time (luckily, I did not need it).
I surrender. Since my new plan requires me to have the gateway, I installed it and left it alone, even if I don't need the wifi or router or VOIP service. I can't believe the service cannot just leave things the way they are and not mess it up every few days.
Give up.
