New Modem & Activation (x4)

All of the below is to ask the question regarding activation and network issues as it seems like when there are network issues with the Comcast network in my area, I get the activation message again. Is there a refresh interval that the modem must talk to the Comcast activation server or it thinks it is no longer activated? Is there something else that I am missing with this???

Alright recieved the new modem as the upgrade to replace my old modem. Performed the self service activation on Friday (6/20/14) without issue.

Sunday (6/22/14) I started getting the activation notice again. Tried online activation, no luck. Called Comcast and the VRS said that there were Comcast network issues in my area and I could not activate over the phone (made the mistake of selecting that i wanted to activate a product). Finally got smart after about 5 hours and selected another option along with pressing 0. Got to someone and per the person on the phone, they resent the activation signal after having me verify my CMAC with them. It started working...

Tuesday (6/24/14) I started getting the activation notice again. Called into Comcast, did not select activation and zeroed out to speak with someone. Basicaly the same thing as the previous phone call except when asked for my CMAC, I said isn't it listed in your system as tied to my residence? Yes, but there are two different CMAC's so i want to verify which one it is... I asked what he had on file and he told me, so again i verified my CMAC. According to this tech, my previous activations were incomplete but after his magical help i should have no more problems...

Thursday (6/26/14), well the previous tech was slightly incorrect. Tt was working when i got home but after about 30 minutes on my laptop of surfing, up comes the dreaded activation message again. Family then informed me that the internet had been up and down all day... Called into Comcast and did the needful to get a tech... Talked with this tech, explained what was previously done and wanted another activation signal to be sent... He and i went back and forth for a few minutes as he wanted me to unplug, wait 30 seconds and replug the modem while i didn't want to. Unplugged the modem and asked if he saw it drop from his end (meanwhile i am seeing the lights are still on) to which he says no... Alright, i am a frustrated smart a&& customer so i go "hey, want me to take out the battery????"... Well the power cycle did clear up the activation issue but then i have to explain how my modem and personal router are connected to avoid having to plug my computer directly into the modem.

Hopefully this time is the charm but I will try to power cycle it myself first the next time.
