I was on the phone with Comcast today trying to activate my devices. I opted for the self-install as I do not like to invite strangers into my house. I uplugged the coax from the devices I had from WOW and plugged them into the backs of the xfinity devices I received. Nothing else was changed or touched. Go from having full capability with WOW to no capability with Comcast. Same wires. Comcast says they need to have a Tech come out to the house because "the house is wired for WOW, and not Comcast. It's like if you had Dish and decided to get DirecTv, getting the new dish is not enough." The service rep stated someone came out and did the connection at the pole, so there is service running to the house. When I plug the modem directly into the coax leading into the house, I get nothing (before the splitters to go to the destinations that I want my devices installed). It seems to me that I'm not getting Comcast service to my home, and that Comcast wants to put me out of time off from work, and the anxiety to allow someone I've never met into my home. Does Comcast truly have to install some special coax cable inside my home in order for me to get service?
