So, after 7 years of rebooting our Comcast basic Internet daily due to their inability to fix the problem, coupled with the data caps, and lack of competitors in the area, we moved to Comcast business for our home (I already have it at my business) in the hopes that the 'higher level of service' would allow us some hands-free Internet. Less than a week later, we are pulling our hair out as everything is worse, with constant disconnects, sometimes multiple times per minute. Some software is more resilient (Netflix/Hulu) and will not actually close the program, while my games/curse/vent reset with even a half-second disconnect.
I've read through most of the threads here and all my router/modem/network specs (Cisco DPC3939) are within tolerance, so nothing stands out as the problem. Comcast has rewired on several occasions and we've had multiple pieces of hardware over the years. I guess this is more of a vent than actually hoping there will ever be a fix for the problem(s), as in almost all of the threads I've read on the subject, very very few ever post that there has ever been a resolution.
Tomorrow starts the long slog with Comcast support (yay, I get to unplug my modem, reset my computers and do 100 other things I've done 100 times before anyone will even approach the actual problem). Such a frustrating nightmare that seems to happen to so many people that perhaps Comcast would invest in further necessary buildouts to actually offer a reliable service.
