Hi,
I've been having this problem for about 6 months and have had visits by 8 different Comcast technicians with no resolution. As a matter of fact there is one scheduled to come tomorrow, but I'm not feeling positive. Here is my problem, almost every evening between 7pm and midnight my internet speed drops significantly. Some nights its in the 20's but most nights it is between 2-16 mbps. We have the Blast 50 and during the daylight hours it ranges between 35 and 55. They have changed the modem twice, put a new and thicker cable between the post and the house, put an amplifier in the junction box in the house, but nothing has solved the problem. Right now, my speed is 6.
I have the TG862G modem but the problem was occurring with the Motorola brand also. The computer is hard-wired and there is a D-Link switch in the junction box. Oh yeah, the last tech thought the switch was causing the problem but we've run an ethernet cable directly to the modem and get the same slow speed at night.
Any ideas of what to do next cuz I'm at the point of downgrading my service since I'm tired of paying for something I'm not receiving?
