I was recently forced to get rid of my old cable modem by Comcast and the local service center gave me a Technicolor TC8305C. I hate this modem and i am paying $8/month for it. It is not very flexible or configurable so I want to go buy my own cable modem & a newer wireless router. I don't need telphony. I've read that the Motorola's SB6141 & Zoom 5341J are well rated modems but I wonder how configurable they are (i.e. ports allowed, parental controls, MAC address controls, assigning static IP's to devices on the internal network, and general ease of setup). Suggestions?
