Re: cant stream netflix over system

Until today there was a thread titled "Is Comcast throttling Netflix?"  that had close to 300 posts regarding a sudden serious degradation of service which started at the end of November.  Most were posting about no longer being able to stream from netflix in the evenings from the hours of 6pm to 2am.  Most of us had spent money changing equipment, time in numerous calls to Comcast and Netflix, service calls, etc. with Netflix blaming Comcast and visa versa.

We've started a petition on change.org asking for transparency about the issues and to have both companies stop blaming each other.

Many people have tried a variety of different things--and some posters were pretty technologically savy. Many posts were from the Seattle/Portland area and some from other cities.

We had Comcast technicians who posted that this was not throttling but so far we were not given a clear reason as to what is happening.

Today the post was closed saying that it was "answered" but I think many of us did not feel it was answered and we are still having the problems.  Can't stream from Netflix or Amazon prime anymore in the evening hours.

Today I finally received a call from a senior technician from Comcast (I had been promised this call three times but until today it didn't happen.).  He told me he was doing some investigation to see if there was a problem in the Seattle area and that he would get back to me.

I am still concerned about all the people who are struggling with these issues and being told by customer support that it's the customer's router or Netflix or some other fault that is in our control when it became apparent through our discussion on the thread that this is something happening from Comcast's end and nothing we as customers can do to help.  It is shameful that so many people are spending time, energy, and money trying to fix a problem because we are not getting clear information. If the senior technician ever figures out what is wrong with my service I will post here.  I had planned on posting on the thread where we had all been discussing the problems but it was mysteriously  closed today.  Here is the link to the thread and the ensuing discussion. http://forums.comcast.com/t5/Basic-Internet-Connectivity-And/Is-Comcast-blocking-Netflix/td-p/1885277

The link to the petition is in one of the posts.  In light of the court ruling today about the FCC and neutrality I don't know that our petition will help.  I'm thinking that the only thing we might be able to do is file a class action suit about the money we all paid from the end of November to whenever we get our full service that we've been paying for restored.  We paid for a service we did not receive.  It seems that there should be something we can do about that.
