I am unable to obtain modem status on my Arris TG862 when I turn to modem’s status page at http://192.168.100.1 or http://10.0.0.1. I receive Authentication Error How grim. I read that Arris, especially TG862 has daily password generator but then also read that going privately on Xfinity login avoids this need. What a rumor mill. I try Enter, admin, admin, admin, blank, administrater, emperor (just kidding) my Comcast log in's etc No luck. I JOIN a speed guide group when I learn different modems have different ISP sites as above. Going to the test gateway and learning that does not help. I am still unauthenitcated and cannot learn if my modem is too noisy. This from a woman who does not understand a modem from a router but am trying.
I test my modem for address and and get:
Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : hsXX.wa.comcast.net.
IPv6 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 2601:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Temporary IPv6 Address. . . . . . : 2XX:XXXXXXXXXXXX
Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fXXX::XXXXXXXXXXX Me
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.XX X I try this address that I block here out of silliness and fear. It may be correct)
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 2XX.XXXXX
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : XXXXXXXXXX (and this one which is is wrong of course)
10.XXXXX (and this one that I am afraid to print here. It should be correct)
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

I find working at 3 AM is helpful but not compatible with life. I don't get kicked off and things move well. tell your kids to do homework then and play games. Comcast should advertise this. Working from 7 PM-midnight--I can't even get on to do these tests. I have Xfinity Blast. My wireless speeds were approximately 12/ 45 which were amazing for here! If only I could work at night!
Here are other results. I assumed I should mask some of the details

(I put half ping in here. Er, didn't know to hit Ctr AND C at first) My summary here:
Packets: Sent = 80, Received = 72, Lost = 8 (10% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 10ms, Maximum = 1131ms, Average = 183ms
The variation seems huge. Is that normal?
Thanks to the very helpful man who gave me some information. I don't understand much yet. This reminds me of cargo cult science since I report what I do not hardly grasp. Trace ping seems normal. Haha, like I get that but I think I do. Thanks for all the help on this page. I understand that tests should be repeated at different times during the day. I can't get ON when I need to to test in the evening and will contact Comcast as the very nice man suggested--mentioning squashed wireless signal and other thoughts. Lovely people here!
