Motorola SB6141 Not Connecting

Having moved over from Verizon, I decided I wanted to use Comcast's Extreme 105 service this time around.  I also decided I wanted to use my own modem, thus I bought a Motorola SB6141 to use since it's approved.

 

However, I am having issues with it.  Comcast told me I wouldn't be getting the full speed because I need a tech to come out and upgrade my connections, but shouldn't my modem be getting something?  Comcast says they can see the modem on their system, but that they cannot push a signal to it.  The modem itself doesn't seem to be able to establish a downstream connection of any type, so it sits there blinking the downstream icon fultily.  A tech said my account was attached to the wrong billing area and we had that changed, but still having issues getting the modem to actually fully connect.

 

Anyone here experience this issue with this particular modem?  Not sure what is going on.  I have a tech coming tomorrow to install the 'special connection' I need to use my 105.  I am sure he'll figure it out, but I wanted an idea of what the issue is before they come.
