Here is the situation.
Download speed ~ .75 to 1.5mbs. Upload 1 to 2mbs per second from the nearest Comcast server (Washington DC)
A server 150 miltes away, download speeds of 8mbs and upload of 10mbs (Richmond).
Both were repeatable time and and time again. And yes, in every case, upload was much much faster than download.
Also note that 15 minutes later, speeds where better (10 mbs down, 10 mbs), only to die again to what they were.
Comcast's solution? Make me wait at home for a tech, when the problem clearly is on Comcast's side, not mine. If it were on my side, a local server would be faster. I understand stuff happens - but, please don't waste a person's time and cost them money when it is not on our side. Further, when the tech comes and finds that there is nothing wrong here, what will Comcast do? Charge a fee!!!
Thats just not right.
