I am unable to open two websites (that I'm aware of): www.verizonwireless.com and www.newegg.com. All other sites I routinely view come up just fine.
I'm using Chrome and IE with the same results. Chrome shows 'Waiting for www.newegg.com...' for example, then after about 3 minutes Chrome shows the error: 'This webpage is not available'. Same thing for Verizonwireless.com. Using IE, same results with IE's error saying: 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage'.
- I've checked and shut-off any and all firewalls long enough to check and this problem still occurs for both websites
- I've tried going to these two sites via search engine and links on other sites. Same result.
- Tech support had me enter the IP address of verizonwireless.com. Same result, however I am getting through enough that the IP number resolves to get the status 'Waiting for www.verizonwireless.com'.
This problem has befuddled Comcast's 1st line support and regional support. The trouble ticket just got forwarded to 'National Support' but I'm not to expect a call back for about 72 hours.
Any ideas or helpful suggestions, short of waiting for national support or using my cellular connection to reach these two sites?
