Ps4

I am trying to connect my son's PS4 to the internet. The wifi signal from my comcast provided router is either too weak or too far away from the tv my son plays video games on. So i hooked a LAN cable between the PS4 and the cable box, but i still cannot get internet connection.
Any suggestions? Tks
