I have a performance internet account, which Comcast advertises as 20MB/s in my area. In the past, I have received that level of performance or more, but lately, I've been getting closer to 14 down, 3 up. In reality, I haven't noticed any practical problems because of the performance. The speed is pretty consistently 14/3, and that's actually enough for most of my needs. I'm just wondering what's going on, or if I should try to diagnose the slowdown. I was thinking about upgrading to the blast tier (I have teenagers), but it wouldn't make sense if I'm not getting what I'm paying for now.
Ping times are good to quite good (10-14 ms). I get the same speed whether I use wired or wireless LAN, so it doesn't appear to be the WLAN.
