Intermittent connectivity from Comcast Internet service since 12/26/13

I am using comcast xfinity for tv and for broadband internet access.    On about December 26, 2013 connections to all internet sites on all devices (ethernet or wirless connected) in my house abruptly began to fail.  Attempted connections to sites would time-out.  Gmail reported repeated disconnects and attempts to reconnect. However the ethernet connection icon on the computers showed no disconnection warning.  This problem has continued since then.  About 80% of attempted xfinity speed checks time out and give 0 latency, 0 download, and zero upload.  5% time out in the middle of the test. 15% show high speed according to our plan (57.5 download and 11.5 upload),  This problem happens the same way if we disconnect all computers except one (or another) from the ethernet or shut off wireless on our wireless devices.  There is no problem with connections between computers and devices trough the router of this modem.  Although the connections to internet sites is inturrupted about 80% of the time, the online, download and upload lights on the modem remain on and constant.  There is never any blinking or interupption of these lights.  

I have spent countless hours on the phone with technicians who confirm my connection is unstable.  I had the cable (under the street) replaced, and I am about to absolutely lose my mind.  I am presently working 8a-5p and have a service call for ANOTHER tech to come out tomorrow from 8a-12 when the web-site guarantees 2-hr window appts.  I am so weary!!!  Help!
