see here, how everything is normal signal and power wise, BUT, look at Channel 15 on the upstream side for Errors. what gives with that? its now affecting everything i do.
ive already performed several power cycles including a full power down and disconnect. everything is good connections wise for coax. no uncovered connections at the split and amp box. modem is the first tap on the interface box outside. the router is a smoothwall legacy P-4 box build. everything except second floor connects are Cat-6 Ethernet from a 24 port Giga-bit switch.
How do I configure PC and modem to access my office remotely from my home computer?
Can't connect via ftp to website on an Internet provider
I have connected recently via ftp to a website I maintain on an ISP site. Now I can't connect at all, not even to a test server provided by the ftp program. This is from a Windows 7 PC. A family member has also tried to connect via ftp to 2 different sites from a Mac and that is not working either, and it has worked in the past. I have reset the modem as part of my troubleshooting.
Does anyone know if Comcast has changed anything recently that would interfere with ftp connections?

cable speed going downhill big time?
it seem to be going on for a while. for the amount of money i pay for the service, feel like i'm getting ripped off.
its not just overnight that the rates bad. i test my speed and even in the day its like 1-4 mbps. i signed up for fast speed internet. at the beginning it used to like like high like 20 for test and download rate can max at 3mbps
anyone else have similar problem? maybe i should go to fios after the contract expires.
what is the wps used for?
Modem will not release CPE MAC Address
My modem is one I own. I have an SB6121 and it has been in place for well over a year. I recently changed to a new Router, something I have done a number of times before in my 12 years with Comcast as well as something I have helped a number of friends with also.
The procedure is always the same. With the Modem powered down, connect the Router. Power up the Modem and wait for it to synch then power up the Router and wait for the lights to stabilize. In the olden days of XP one would then want to start up the computer. Newer Microsoft operating systems can establish an internet connection without that step. They can stay running.
This procedure no longer works. After everything is powered up in sequence and stable, I have no Internet connection. When I installed my new Router, after much hair-pulling I called into Comcast. My Modem was reset and all was good. But I had swapped back to my old Router prior to placing the call. I swapped the new Router back in, following the steps above and once again I had no Internet connection.
I called ARRIS. After a lengthy discussion with one of their techs I came to realize that the Modem was substituting a previous CPE MAC Adress that was no longer in use. The "fix" is to power cycle the Modem a second time as the last step.
This is not acceptable. If we experience a power failure the Modem and Router will start up but I have no Internet access. I've experience this twice so far. Once with an actual power failure and a second time that I simulated myself. If we have a power failure when I am not at home, I lose access to my NAS, my IP camera and my IP monitored alarm system will have no access to the Internet.
I am hopeful that this post will attract the attention of the right people.

Internent drops multiple times daily
My comcast internet drops almost hourly. If I unplug my surfboard modem everything seems to work fine. I have a linksys dual band router and all of my wirless devices are apple and they all lose signal simultaneously. I can still log into the router and modem when I experience internet loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I dread calling Comcast and going through the phone tree.
What speed
Received an Xfinity email yesterday indicating that my speeds would double if I reset/restarted everything. Didn't happen. Still at 16 down, 5 up. Modem is Netgear CMD31T, Docsis 3 and literature states rated to 150.
My service tier is Performance. Should I be getting higher speeds? Thanks.

WiFi modem
I want to replace my leased Comcast Arris TM722 wired modem and a very old Netgear wireless router with a purchased WiFi modem. I use a smart TV, smart cell phone, Kindle, Comcast/Xfinity cable TV and internet, desk top PC, and will soon have a laptop. I have a three bedroom duplex, about 1200 square feet. What type/brand wireless modem do I need?
