Extremely slow Comcast Internet service after installing a new Xfinity voice modem

Earlier this week I replaced our end-of-life voice modem with a new Arris TG862G-CT voice modem/wireless gateway from Comcast. The new modem also replaced my Linksys E2500 wireless router, to which I had two computers, a Roku device, and a printer connected wirelessly. In the process, I switched my computer from wireless to Ethernet, resulting in an immediate boost in download speed.

 

Today, however, I was unable to watch anything on my Roku device, and I wasn't even able to complete a speed test on my computer because of extremeley slow download speeds on my Comcast Internet service. Pages on the Comcast site also loaded very slowly, as did other sites as well. Is there a service issue with Comcast Xfinity at this time? Or is there something terribly wrong with the new voice modem?

 

As far as I can tell, the modem is set up correctly. I worked with a Comcast representative on the phone to activate it. Also, it seemed to work fine for the first day or so of use. I'm able to print OK from my computer through the router to the wireless printer.

 

Any ideas about what's causing the Internet slowdown?
