I just reinstalled Windows XP on a desktop PC, but when I open a browser I am not getting an internet connection. I have a cable modem through Comcast connected to a router. The PC is connected to the router via a cable, but I am still able to connect to the internet wirelessly on 2 laptops in the house...so my Comcast internet is working. I read on the Comcast website about how to configure a connection, and it says to go to Network Connections and click on the Local Area Connection icon. But when I go to Network Connections, there is no Local Area Connection icon. Do I need to do something to create the icon? Do I maybe need a CD from Comcast to set up an internet connection after reinstalling Windows?
