Frequent Disconnects With Internet and OnDemand

Hey Guys,

I've been battling a couple issues in my home for a few weeks now. I have two problems:

First, the Internet seems to drop out from time to time, or just respond very slowly. On my computer, this will manifest in a page not displayed error coming up while browsing, but if I wait 30-60 seconds, the internet will start working again. I work from home, and notice this happening multiple times an hour. In Netflix (on PC, Xbox 360, or Xbox One), the streaming will periodically stop and have to re-buffer, or the quality will just get really bad. All Netflix devices are connected via Cat6 to the wireless router (Asus RT-N66R), which is connected to the cable modem.

Second, when watching TV OnDemand, the audio (and sometimes video) will cut out every couple minutes. Whatever I'm watching keeps playing in time, just minus the audio or video. I also notice the TV getting pixelated from time to time during normal viewing.

In troubleshooting, I replaced the cable which connects to the main cable drop, the splitter that connects to that, and the two cables that connect to my cable box and cable modem. I've replaced the wireless router which connects to the cable modem, and all ethernet cables. The only things I have NOT replaced at this point are the cable box (which IS about 6 years old), the cable modem (Motorola Surfboard SB6120), and the main cable drop itself (basically just a hole drilled in the wall from outside with a male to male coax coupler).

I contacted Comcast support last week before swapping out all this stuff. They said they could not detect any issues on their end. What they did say is that I needed a new cable box because mine is too old, and that I would have to troubleshoot the internet on my own since I own my own cable modem and router. When I asked if they thought it was likely that both my Internet and OnDemand were experiencing very similar symptoms, but that the issues weren't related, they said yes (sigh...).

I do plan on going to get a new cable box. Before I replace the cable modem though, I wanted to post up my log and see what people think, and if they have any suggestions.
